 Welcome to the home of Howick Bowling Club Inc Lawn bowls is a sport that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy and we invite you to give it a try at our club. We invite you to just turn up for free coaching at any of the following times - Tuesdays and Saturdays 9am till 12pm from 1 October till 30 April (summer) Mondays and Saturdays 9am till 12 pm from 1 May till 30 September (winter) Bowls will be available and we just ask that you wear flat soled shoes (no heels). Our coaches can also give you membership information and forms. Our members are welcome to practice at any time. We have three real cotula grass and two artificial grass greens maintained to a high standard by a full time green keeper so are able to bowl year round. A number of our members regularly participate in Bowls NZ and Auckland Bowls tournaments as well as our own clubs championships. Besides that we are very active with the following bowling activities - Every Tuesday morning throughout the year a Single Entry mixed tournament.' Every Wednesday throughout the year an Open Triples tournament for both our and other bowling clubs members. Every Friday afternoon an Open Pairs 2-4-2 tournament for both our and other bowling clubs members. Roll ups every Monday (winter only), Tuesday (summer only), Thursday and Saturday afternoons throughout the year for our members. Twilight bowls for both non-members and members on Thursday evenings during summer. College bowls is open to all Colleges / High Schools in our area. Our club rooms consists of a large two level building with bar facilities on both levels. The upstairs level has a panoramic view of all the greens, has a full kitchen and is available for hire. We regularly host a number of community and sporting groups, including bowls functions, and would be pleased to host your function.
